German wine can often seem impenetrable to the outside eye, but take a closer look and you discover a world of racy, thought-provoking wine, often at eye-wateringly good prices!

Nowadays German wine producers are doing incredible things with Riesling, Pinot Noir and other grape varieties. Leading the charge is Clemens Busch, the wizard of the Mosel who pioneered biodynamic & organic winemaking in Germany. We’re also huge fans of Schnaitmann’s “Grand Cru” Pinot Noir.
