- If you are not home to receive your order, it will be left according to instructions requested at the time of purchase. DPD will give you an option to leave your order in a safe place, or to have it delivered to a local Pickup ParcelShop if you are not going to be home.
- Risk passes to you once your wines are delivered to the address or safe place you’ve chosen.
- Our service includes one attempted delivery and a redelivery. If you are unable to receive your wines on the second occasion, you may need to pick them up from a depot or pay for further delivery.

10. Club Member Reserves & Storage
Honest Grapes offers a state-of-the-art wine storage service in a secure, temperature-controlled, bonded warehouse at the LCB Drakelow Tunnels. Bottles are stored in their original packaging where possible. An inventory is kept against products stored on behalf of Club Members at our warehouse.
10.1 Charges
- Wines stored with Honest Grapes are subject to annual storage charges which are raised prospectively on a quarterly basis for wines physically held in Club Member Reserves at the point of which the invoice is raised. Current charge rates as set out on our Storage page. Charge rates may be amended upon 30 calendar days’ notice.
- Charges begin once wine enters UK storage (In Bond or Duty Paid). On arrival, wines will be stored In Bond unless we receive written instructions to the contrary.
- Cellarage payment is due at the time of invoice and will be taken where possible via Direct Debit provided you have given us a mandate.
10.2 Insurance - Wines are insured at market value.
- In the unlikely event of breakage or loss whilst in Honest Grapes’ care, a wine will normally be replaced with either the same wine (subject to availability) or a wine of similar quality up to the insured value. Honest Grapes accept no liability should replacement stock not be available at the estimated and insured value. We reserve the right to charge an additional insurance supplement for wines stored by us but purchased through other merchants if your wine is of exceptionally high value.
- Ullages/Condition Loss: While every effort is made to preserve the quality of the stored wine and Honest Grapes will take reasonable care in the storage of your wines, no liability will be accepted for deterioration which may occur by being cellared too long or through the natural processes to which all wines and their corks, however well cared for, are subject. Where a maturity date is provided, Honest Grapes will not accept any liability for the condition of the wine from six (6) months after the maturity date.
10.3 Ownership & Title
- Once fully paid for, the wine belongs to the Member.
- Wines will only be released on payment of all outstanding balances including payments for wine, other services, duty, cellarage fees and VAT.
- Title is determined by reference to your Stock Certificate and, in the case of sealed cases, to the Stock Number marked on each case.
10.4 Valuation & Advice
- Maturity and Valuations: Honest Grapes will provide advice on the maturity of wines and valuations on the website. Such valuations will be based on a regular review of prices shown on Wine Searcher. Any prices shown are for guidance only and Honest Grapes provides no guarantee, and accepts no liability, in relation thereto.
- Advice on purchase and resale: While Honest Grapes will recommend actions based on its understanding of individual Club Member requirements and objectives, Honest Grapes is not recognised as a financial advisor and no undertakings regarding investment performance of any wine will be given, or may be implied from any information provided by any employee of Honest Grapes. Furthermore, Honest Grapes cannot be held liable for unforeseen changes in the value of wines traded on the open market.
10.5 Transfers & Withdrawals

- Take back some or all Reserves into Honest Grapes’ stock and credit the Member at current market value minus a 3% administration cost.
- Otherwise dispose of the Reserves, with costs charged to the Member (e.g., destruction fees).
- Honest Grapes may select which Reserves are sold or disposed of. Reserves may be sold at auction; list fees apply, and pricing will reference Wine‑Searcher or Liv‑ex market prices. Any reasonable bid may be accepted, and Honest Grapes is not liable for sales below original value.
- All Reserves held under a Member’s name remain the Member’s responsibility, and the Member indemnifies Honest Grapes against third‑party claims relating to ownership or instructions.
- If Honest Grapes exercises these rights, the Member authorises Honest Grapes to act as their agent to sell the Reserves. Ownership will transfer to Honest Grapes or the purchaser as applicable. Honest Grapes is not liable for differences in sale proceeds compared with other sale routes.
- Outstanding amounts owed to Honest Grapes will be deducted from sale proceeds. Any remaining balance will be paid to the Member, provided current contact details are available. If not, funds will be held for 12 months, after which they are forfeited.
- If sale proceeds do not cover the Member’s outstanding balance, Honest Grapes may recover the remainder directly from the Member.
