"It was a great pleasure having you (Tom) as our host. The event was a great success and everyone was very complimentary about your speeches and hosting skills. It will be an honour for the hotel, if you would be available for another dinner next year. You truly made last Friday such a great evening."
/Nick, The Ritz

Private bespoke tastings
Honest Grapes oeno-creativity isn’t limited to our public tastings and events. Our charming, engaging and experienced team of hosts – led by Tom ‘WineChap’ Harrow – has put together an exciting roster of wine experiences that are tailored to provide seriously fun entertainment for your guests.
From demystifying the art of ordering wine in a restaurant to appreciating wine as an investment, or tasting wines at altitude and discovering wine and art pairings, or even a private dinner with a renowned winemaker, we have developed a unique range of stimulating tastings that your friends and clients are guaranteed to remember.

Cookery Class with Enrica Rocca
Part wine tasting, part cookery class, part dinner party... an evening at Enrica Rocca is pure Italian joie de vivre. One of the leading voices in authentic Italian cooking, Enrica is celebrated for her creative, ingredient-driven dishes and infectious enthusiasm for the good life.
At her Notting Hill school, now run by her equally talented daughters, guests prepare a spread of antipasti, fresh pasta or risotto, then fish, meat, and something sweet to finish—all paired with generous pours of wine. The setting strikes the perfect note: relaxed, sociable, and unmistakably chic.
It’s little wonder the Enrica Rocca experience has been featured everywhere from Vogue to The New York Times—this is cooking as it should be: lively, generous, and full of heart.

Clays & Claret
Established in 1880, Holland & Holland’s Shooting Grounds, just 17 miles from Central London, is set in 100 acres of woodland and open countryside. Never shot before? No problem: Unlike hacking about a golf course for the first time, even complete novices will thrill at banging clays out of the sky within 20 minutes, with previous sessions uncovering the hidden talents of a number of unexpected snipers! And even experienced shots will improve with guidance from H&H’s expert instructors.
Enjoy an unrivalled day in the English countryside: Shooting, Champagne, fine food and mature Bordeaux, whisky flights and cigars, all just 40-minutes from Mayfair. -
Liquid Assets - an Investment in Pleasure
Wine investment has become one of the most significant alternative markets and now millions are spent annually securing allocations of the most rare and rated Chateaux. Although a return on your investment is highly probable – can you really bear to part with your beloved cases..!
Wine, like art, is a tangible asset and one which, whatever happens to its market value, will always have personal value as an investment in your pleasure. -
Drink (and Dress) like Bond
Honest Grapes and Timothy Everest MBE invite you to a bibulous journey through the iconic spy’s top-end drinks cabinet and wardrobe, featuring a selection of his preferred tipples from both literature and film. Co-hosted at Marylebone Atelier of celebrity tailor Timothy Everest – whose clients include former 007 Pierce Brosnan and Ralph Fiennes whom he has dressed as “M” since Casino Royale, and also Christopher Waltz's Blofeld in Spectre, as well as Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible and Henry Cavill in Man from Uncle.
Drinks options include starting with the famous Vesper Martini, then moving through to one or a selection of 007’s favourite Champagnes (Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, Dom Pérignon, Bollinger Grande Année), via Saké (served at the correct temperature of course, in You Only Live Twice); a nod to the one wine he famously does not drink (Chianti – in From Russia with Love) then on to classic clarets: Ch. Mouton Rothschild, Ch. Angelus and Ch Batailley. Finish with an 1848 Oloroso Sherry or 18 year old Scotch. An evening guaranteed to leave you not shaken but stirred. -
Vintellect: List Tips
A mildly irreverent, but highly practical session teaching you how to navigate around restaurant’s wine menus. Salient points are illustrated by accompanying wines in this essential and failsafe guide for impressing your clients, and any potential father-in-law.
Like a respectable golf handicap, it shouldn’t be a necessary social skill – but it is. -
Settentrione Set-Up
A little of what you know and plenty of new discoveries for all as the classic regions of France go head to head against their distinguished but more exotic counterparts from Northern Italy.
Select from pairings such as Franciacorta vs Champagne, Alto Adige Chardonnay vs Chassagne Montrachet, Barolo vs. Gevrey Chambertin, Trentino or Friuli Cabernet or Merlot vs. Bordeaux, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape vs. Amarone.
We blind taste them and compare and contrast styles and history. More exciting than your standard New World vs Old World comparison and a fun competitive event for wine aficionados and novices alike.
Some of our favourite places to be
-
67 Pall Mall, London
67 Pall Mall isn’t just a wine club, it’s a temple to the grape, dressed up in Savile Row tailoring. Housed in a handsome former bank in St James’s, it’s where collectors, sommeliers, and the wine-curious all come to talk, taste, and quietly out-pour each other.
The by-the-glass list is the stuff of legend—hundreds of wines, from grower Champagne to grand cru Burgundy, all impeccably served and priced with a generosity that keeps regulars coming back. The food plays its part too: confident, seasonal cooking that flatters the glass rather than competes with it.
-
Brunswick House Café, London
A rare London spot that manages to feel both grand and gloriously lived-in. Housed in a Georgian mansion perched beside the chaos of Vauxhall Cross, it’s a place where chandeliers dangle over mismatched tables, and antique curiosities crowd the walls like a bohemian collector’s dream. The effect is part salvage yard, part secret dining club—and entirely irresistible.
The kitchen, led by Jackson Boxer, delivers modern British cooking that's inventive but never showy, elegant yet satisfyingly hearty. -
Noizé, London
Noizé, tucked away in Fitzrovia, channels that unmistakably French spirit of warmth and understatement, and a buzz that feels more Left Bank than London W1.
The food is beautiful - expect things like rich game terrine, perfectly roasted fish, and sauces you’ll want to mop up with the last scrap of bread. The wine list is a dream for oenophiles: broad in scope, and clearly curated by someone who drinks as well as they think.
-
Volta do Mar, Chelsea, London
Simon, co-founder of trendsetting Saltyard back in the earlies (who can recall when Fitzrovia's tapas triangle and sharer plates were nascent??) and wife Isabel relocated their restaurant from Covent Garden to Chelsea, a few doors down from Daphne's, at the end of last year.
They offer a really satisfying and distinctive menu - celebrating "the diversity and interconnection of Portuguese food and culture across the globe" with bold-flavoured dishes you already crave or are intrigued to sample, from clearly quality produce. -
Château Rigaud, Saint Émilion, Bordeaux
The wonderful Château Rigaud is convivial, generous, and just a touch decadent. A fully staffed, exclusive-use retreat, it sits somewhere between a boutique hideaway and a private country residence.
The chefs cook everything from scratch, drawing on produce from the estate’s own gardens and the best of the local markets. It’s the sort of place that was built for celebration: marvellous, meticulously planned weddings that spill into the garden, weekend parties that happen to last very long, and holidays where time seems to forget itself. -
The Hungry Cyclist Lodge, Auxey-Duresses, Burgundy
“I wanted to create an environment that would be welcoming to families, couples, cycling enthusiasts or wine aficionados. A home from home that would allow anyone to discover the region through its good food, fine wines and unique landscape. My hope is that a stay at The Hungry Cyclist Lodge will start your lifelong love of Burgundy"
Tom Kevill-Davies, The Hungry Cyclist
