Clemens and Rita Busch have built a cult following over the past three decades for precise, terroir-driven Rieslings of remarkable clarity and texture. Working in the Mosel, Riesling’s most expressive home, their wines are shaped by site and vintage, with spontaneous fermentations allowing each to find its natural balance, whether dry or sweet.

Their 2025 Riesling Trocken (dry) comes from the Pündericher Marienburg vineyard in the Mosel, one of the region’s most important and steepest south-facing sites. The fruit is sourced from estate-owned parcels on slate soils (primarily grey and blue slate), which give the wine its linear structure, acidity and mineral profile.

Clemens is a long-time pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture, abandoning herbicides in 1976 and joining the Respekt group in 2015. His approach in the cellar is minimalist, with careful use of sulphur to suit Riesling and the Mosel’s cool climate.
