Marienburg lies in the Mosel, where steep, south-facing slopes soak up every bit of sunshine in this cool climate. The blue and grey slate soils hold on to that warmth and radiate it back to the vines, helping the grapes ripen slowly while keeping the region’s trademark acidity and mineral edge intact.
This Auslese is made from carefully selected, very ripe bunches, often with a little noble botrytis in the mix. Hand-harvesting brings extra concentration and sweetness, but the Mosel’s cool conditions keep everything bright and precise. The result is a luscious yet beautifully balanced Riesling, full of vivid fruit, freshness and crystalline clarity.
The ‘Goldkapsel’ label marks out a special selection from the Spätlese harvest, from riper, more concentrated grapes, giving the wine added depth, intensity and complexity.
