There is a secret Cabernet Franc vineyard on the estate, which has been used in very small quantities, until San Leonardo’s winemaker Carlo Ferrini determined it should be brought into the spotlight and vinified as a single variety. 

One of the jewels in the crown of the Beckstoffer vineyards is Missouri Hopper, situated just up the road from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars in Oakville, and it's from these historic Cabernet Sauvignon vines that this hugely exciting wine was crafted.
