It’s always a big event when Valdicava releases their latest Brunello—and this year is no exception. We’re excited to offer the standout wines from this top-tier Montalcino estate: the legendary 100-point Madonna del Piano Riserva 2019, one of the year’s most anticipated releases, and the newly released 2020 Brunello, now with an unexpected (and very welcome) 30% price drop.

Valdicava sits firmly at the top of the Brunello hierarchy, with more 100-point scores from James Suckling than any other producer. The Madonna del Piano 2019, from a vintage Vinous’ Eric Guido calls “an embarrassment of riches”, is Brunello at its most powerful and elegant.

The 2020 Brunello (96 points JS) is also something special. With no Montosoli made this year—all that fruit went into the estate wine—it delivers extraordinary quality at the best price we’ve seen from Valdicava. Production is down 30%, and no large formats were made.

Thanks to our close relationship with the estate, we’ve secured strong allocations, including rare large formats of Madonna, and are offering a 5% discount on 2+ case purchases of either wine (75cl). As ever, demand will likely outpace supply, so don’t wait too long.
