Vignobles Siozard, Villa Lucanius, 2018
Vignobles Siozard, Villa Lucanius, 2018
- Red Still
- Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec
The Siozard family operates around sixty hectares of vines on the terroirs of Bordeaux, Graves, Sauternes and Barsac.
Roman era, Villa Lucanius, old winery, located near the family estate, was built by the brother of the famous poet Ausonius. This cuvée produced in homage to Lucanius, resulting from a blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, brings together Power, Elegance, Density and Finesse. This complex wine is the quintessence of the 2018 Vintage.
"Another sumptuous red Bordeaux from the Siozards, unusually with 50% Malbec. This has remarkable freshness to balance the exuberance of the fruit, yet there is finesse too. No-nonsense claret at an unbeatable price point."

What the critics say:
"The 2018 Villa Lucanius is a blend rarely seen in Bordeaux, that of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, half and half. Produced on the clay-limestone soil of Ch. du Claouset, it’s an enticing deep red colour, with soft, elegant, concentrated sweet fruit and a long, powerful, meaty finish. I really like it."
