Puligny-Montrachet Les Charmes, Domaine Alain Chavy, 2019

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet “Les Charmes” from Domaine Alain Chavy is a beautifully balanced Chardonnay that blends richness, minerality and finesse. On the nose you’ll find lemon zest, green apple and white-peach fruit, layered with toasted almond and subtle vanilla from oak. On the palate it’s structured yet lithe - ripe fruit meets a stony core, wrapped in fine oak, with a long, clean finish edged with chalky minerality.

Domaine Alain Chavy was founded in 2003, when Alain Chavy branched out from the family holdings in Puligny-Montrachet. He farms around 10 hectares, including parcels in some of the most prestigious lieux-dits, and works from one of the few underground cellars in Puligny (about 5.5 metres deep) to ensure ideal ageing conditions. His winemaking philosophy favours restraint: minimal new oak, gentle batonnage and a focus on the pure expression of Puligny’s limestone-driven terroir.
