Pol Roger Exclusive Tasting

Join us in September for an exclusive Pol Roger tasting hosted by 6th Generation family member Martin Heidsieck, introducing the latest edition of Sir Winston Churchill – 2018, alongside a selection of other cuvées and vintages from the maison (TBC).  Spaces are complimentary for those purchasing 2+ cases of the 2018 Sir Winston Churchill.  The cuvée honours the great British Prime Minister and his enduring friendship with the Pol Roger family, sparked over a post-war lunch and a bottle of 1928 Pol Roger. Though he never visited the house, Churchill famously called it “the most drinkable address in the world.”

2018 was a commendable year in Champagne but especially Pinot Noir (rated 5/5 by Decanter’s Yohan Castaing), which makes up the lion's share of the blend, and this edition of Winston Churchill reflects embodies this quality. Antonio Galloni (96 pts) praises its elegance, noting how the wine is “built more on finesse and persistence than size.” Jancis Robinson, awarding a rare 18/20, finds it “very vibrant with more energy than many 2018 champagnes.”
