An action-packed, fast-paced tasting at Domaine Rapet this year. The 2024 vintage was defined by a good September but very small quantities. Sulphur is used only after malolactic fermentation, and the approach here remains resolutely traditional.

The wines show bright acidity, modest extraction and clarity of fruit rather than power. Whites lean towards green apple, fennel and mineral tension, while the reds favour crunch, florality and savoury detail. Nothing feels pushed, and several wines are clearly built for ageing rather than early charm.

"Mid lemon yellow. A blend of the two other Pernand 1ers Crus in a sense. It is taking a little longer to tease the nose out, a mix of softness and ripeness, with just adequate acidity to carry on through, and a little aftertaste of welcome salinity. Drink from 2028-2032. Tasted Oct 2025."
