"Blend of northern plots, mostly two sites. Just under seven barrels, clay soils, 1/4 new oak. Lifted floral notes, bright cranberry fruit, and a polished, expressive profile."
Stewart Pryce, Honest Grapes Wine Club Manager
Maison Edouard Delaunay is a story of rebirth. Since re-emerging, the team has established a remarkable reputation, particularly for its whites, which show bright, front-foot-forward fruit and unmistakable precision. There is no set recipe for each vintage; each wine reflects its terroir, and each year presents a new challenge to express the land faithfully.
With 52 appellations produced in 2024 - just a third of a regular vintage due to careful selection - the domaine continues to prioritise quality over quantity, focusing on what truly matters: the character of each plot.
Edouard Delaunay is one of Tim Atkin's Top 15 Négociants & Cooperatives.
What the critics say:
"This cuvée is normally made from Aux Allots, Athées and Longecourts, but none of the latter in 2024. 1.5 new barrels out of 6.5. It may yet be that a barrel of 1er Cru will be added. Dark purple. A rich solid fruit, quite plummy despite the northern origins, on the nose. Quite full on the palate, with higher acidity, and well-integrated tannins, with medium plus length."
"€: Value wines that are especially worth seeking out"
