2024 was an extremely challenging year, with the lowest yields the domaine has ever seen — no Bourgogne Rouge or Mazoyères was made. Despite the adversity, Taupenot-Merme has produced elegant, beautifully perfumed wines, showing power and finesse across their key holdings in Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, and Gevrey-Chambertin.
Everything was destemmed to preserve precision, with careful extraction giving wines that are finely structured, fresh, and expressive of their terroir. These are Burgundies built for enjoyment now or for cellaring, offering the signature combination of elegance, depth, and perfume even in a tiny vintage.

"A mild touch of reduction is just enough to blur the nuances of what appears to be mostly red berry scents. There is better volume and a more refined texture to the punchy medium-bodied flavors that deliver fine depth and persistence on the moderately firm and well-balanced finale. This should age effortlessly over the mid-term yet be approachable after only 5-ish years. *Outstanding*"
"The 2024 Morey-Saint-Denis La Riotte 1er Cru has an open and expressive nose, predominantly red berry fruit, brown spices and light tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with quite supple tannins and a keen thread of acidity. Just a touch of Chinese 5-spice towards the finish. This is a capable Morey La Riotte that I suspect will be best drunk early."
"Medium ruby purple. Some density to the nose without displaying the detail yet. A brighter plush red berry fruit on the palate with a good level of acidity beneath. More in reserve than the village wine, and with good energy. Saline finish."
