Clos I Terrasses' gorgeous second wine, Laurel, which we tasted last week in the office, yet again delivers. Drawn from younger vines (and often benefiting from a little declassified Erasmus), it remains one of the most reliable and rewarding wines in Spain.

Our much-loved “Latin-tinged Châteauneuf-du-Pape” should once again offer a more approachable window into the estate’s style while the grand vin takes its time.

What the critics say:

95+/100Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

"The 2023 Laurel has a stunning, expressive, showy and aromatic nose of ripe berries and flowers. It's not a shy wine, as it reached 15.5% alcohol, and it's voluptuous and full-bodied. The grapes were small and the juice was concentrated. They finished harvesting around mid-September, and the blend is around 75% Garnacha and 25% Syrah. It fermented destemmed and matured in 2,000-liter oak and concrete vats and around 15% in barriques. It's open and showy, very impressive, aromatic and peachy, with volume and round tannins. It is definitely a hedonistic and forward vintage that is round and lush, with the wild character it always has, with aromatic herbs and a young and energetic vibe. They produced 19,500 bottles. It was bottled in May 2025."

OUR GROWERS

Clos I Terrasses

The story of Clos I Terrasses is almost the story of Priorat itself. Daphne Glorian was one of the original pioneers who thought that the old Garnacha vines might make some good wine, and she joined her friends Álvaro Palacios (L'Ermita) and René Barbier (Clos Mogador) in 1989.
