"From two plots: Les Combes (south) and La Voie Rosse. Bright, crunchy cranberry fruit with floral, rose-like aromatics. Fresh acidity and a savoury umami note on the finish suggest strong ageing potential."
Ksenia Pashkova, Club Merchandiser
An action-packed, fast-paced tasting at Domaine Rapet this year. The 2024 vintage was defined by a good September but very small quantities. Sulphur is used only after malolactic fermentation, and the approach here remains resolutely traditional.
The wines show bright acidity, modest extraction and clarity of fruit rather than power. Whites lean towards green apple, fennel and mineral tension, while the reds favour crunch, florality and savoury detail. Nothing feels pushed, and several wines are clearly built for ageing rather than early charm.
What the critics say:
"This classic Corton is slightly rustic at first, with plum and mulberry fruit, coloured by a savoury, almost gamey note, and hints of earth and leather. The texture is firmly tannic, reasonably full-bodied and surprisingly long for the vintage. The grapes are mostly from Voirosses at the entry to Aloxe, blended with a bit of Les Combes at the base of the slope. Robin and his father have lightened up the proportion of new oak in 2024 from 30% to 15% to let the fruit shine through."
