"30% from 55-year-old vines, 40% from very old vines. Aged one year in 600L amphora, then 1200L barrels. Zesty and precise, showing grape flower, Granny Smith apple skin and melon, followed by fennel. A subtle creamy note appears right at the end. Bottled and clearly needing time to open."
Ksenia Pashkova, Club Merchandiser
An action-packed, fast-paced tasting at Domaine Rapet this year. The 2024 vintage was defined by a good September but very small quantities. Sulphur is used only after malolactic fermentation, and the approach here remains resolutely traditional.
The wines show bright acidity, modest extraction and clarity of fruit rather than power. Whites lean towards green apple, fennel and mineral tension, while the reds favour crunch, florality and savoury detail. Nothing feels pushed, and several wines are clearly built for ageing rather than early charm.
What the critics say:
"Everybody seemed to be picking their Corton-Charlemagne on the same day on the Pernand side, Saturday 21st, because rain threatened. Pale lemon in colour. A little tension showing on the nose which is not exuberant. 60% wood with one third new, plus wineglobe, egg, amphora and foudre. Interesting complexity on the palate, just a little softness in the white fruit through the middle, then stones behind. Drink from 2030-2036. Tasted Oct 2025. *4/5 stars*"
