Est. delivery in autumn, 2026

Long occupying one of Tuscany's most scenic sites, Argiano's Brunello is always one of the absolute stars of the south in Montalcino, no doubt partly due to the prevalence of the mineral-rich marl in its clay limestone soil, also found in the hill of Montosoli further north (the region's true "Grand Cru" according to Vinous' Eric Guido), lending the wines added finesse and complexity which sets them apart from their neighbours.

There is always extra lift and freshness in the wines thanks to the cooling influence of the Mediterranean.

What the critics say:

94+/100Eric Guido, Vinous

"The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino is dark and intense, with a smoldering bouquet of ashen stones, grilled herbs and dried black cherries. It is surprisingly energetic and lifted in feel, with racy red berry fruits and rosy inner florals that form a truly satisfying experience. The 2021 is pleasantly chewy and long, leaving a coating of fine-grained tannins and a nuance of tart blackberry."

94/100James Suckling

"Aromas of cherries, orange blossom and white cedar with a hint of juniper follow through to a medium body, firm and silky tannins and a bright, polished finish. Linear and tight. Lovely length. Succulent and satisfying with a crisp finish. From organically grown grapes. Best after 2027."

OUR GROWERS

Tenuta di Argiano

Argiano is one of the oldest and most beautiful estates in Montalcino (and was one of the members of the original Brunello Consorzio).

Although the estate is situated in the south of the region which tends to be several degrees warmer than vineyards to the north, the vineyards achieve good elevation and comprise a high percentage of the mineral-rich marl in their clay limestone soil, also found in the hill of Montosoli – Montalcino’s widely accepted “Grand Cru” site.
