2024 was an extremely challenging year, with the lowest yields the domaine has ever seen — no Bourgogne Rouge or Mazoyères was made. Despite the adversity, Taupenot-Merme has produced elegant, beautifully perfumed wines, showing power and finesse across their key holdings in Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, and Gevrey-Chambertin.
Everything was destemmed to preserve precision, with careful extraction giving wines that are finely structured, fresh, and expressive of their terroir. These are Burgundies built for enjoyment now or for cellaring, offering the signature combination of elegance, depth, and perfume even in a tiny vintage.
What the critics say:
"A wonderfully fresh nose freely reveals its more layered aromas of the essence of red cherry, humus-tinged earth and a background hint of spice. The finer, but not necessarily denser, flavors do though exhibit more evident minerality on the dusty, lightly austere and balanced finale that is also noticeably firmer. This offers good development potential and is worth checking out, especially for value."
