Vourvoukeli Estate is a family-owned winery based in Avdira, Thrace, in northern Greece. It was founded in 1999 by Nikos and Flora Vourvoukeli, who set out to revive the area’s long-lost winemaking traditions—Avdira was once a historic wine hub, but phylloxera and economic shifts had sidelined viticulture for decades.

What began as a small project with just 2 hectares of vines has grown into a 12-hectare estate, now run by the founders' sons, Georgios and Odysseas, both trained in viticulture and oenology. The focus is on quality and authenticity, with a mix of native and international grape varieties. You’ll find local gems like Limnio, Mavroudi, Assyrtiko, and Pamidi growing alongside Chardonnay, Malagouzia, and Syrah.

The estate is committed to sustainable farming and producing wines that reflect both the unique terroir of Thrace and the family’s passion for their craft. Visitors are welcome to tour the vineyards, explore the cellar, and taste the wines in a relaxed setting that blends tradition with modern hospitality.

Vourvoukeli is all about bringing fresh energy to one of Greece’s oldest wine regions—and the results speak for themselves.
