We’ve secured an exceptional parcel of mature Madeira from Blandy’s - including rare large formats - that’s perfect for cellaring, dinner parties, tastings, or standout gifts.
Madeira is the longest-lived of all wines, with bottles from the early 1800s still being opened and much enjoyed. It was the favourite tipple of Michael Broadbent, former head of Christie’s Wine Department, who used to keep several different bottles by his desk for visitors claiming “Verdelho was much better, certainly more nourishing, than Christie’s morning coffee, and the richer Bual infinitely more interesting than tea”.
Blandy’s is the benchmark for fine Madeira, often likened to the Petrus, DRC, and Rayas of fortified wine. Founded in 1811, it's still family-run today under 7th-generation Chris Blandy—making it the only original Madeira house still managed by its founding family.
Their wines, made using the traditional canteiro method, age slowly in 550L oak casks heated naturally by Madeira’s subtropical climate—creating depth, complexity, and freshness that lasts centuries. With over 200 international awards and a winemaker crowned IWSC Fortified Winemaker of the Year three times, Blandy’s remains the undisputed leader in Madeira.
All bottles are stored under bond in the UK, in pristine condition as part of Blandy’s mature release programme. Available for shipping in early autumn.
