The Brunel family has been making wine in the Southern Rhône since 1670, but their story in Châteauneuf-du-Pape began in earnest in the mid-20th century. Since then, four generations have called Château de la Gardine home, gradually expanding the estate. In 1963, they added 47 hectares in Rasteau and Côtes-du-Rhône Villages, followed by the 45-hectare Château Saint-Roch in Lirac in 1998.

Returning to their négociant roots, the Brunels launched the Brunel de la Gardine collection, sourcing top-quality grapes from both Southern and Northern Rhône appellations. Each wine is blended and matured with care, staying true to the character of its terroir and the family’s core values: quality, authenticity, and respect for the environment.

Their distinctive flask-shaped bottle has been a signature since 1964. Inspired by an old, mouth-blown bottle unearthed during a cellar expansion, its unique shape and etched markings have become a symbol of La Gardine’s identity and history.
