Savigny-lès-Beaune Premier Cru Les Lavières from Domaine Tollot-Beaut is bright, lifted and beautifully judged. It’s packed with wild strawberry, red cherry and a flicker of cranberry, with soft floral notes, a hint of earth and a touch of spice adding depth. Fresh acidity and fine, supple tannins give it energy and precision, carrying the wine cleanly through the finish.

Savigny sits between Beaune and the grand cru slopes of Corton, and can sometimes be overshadowed by its famous neighbours. That’s good news for anyone willing to look a little closer — the wines deliver serious quality for the price.

‘Les Lavières’ is one of two Premier Crus the estate bottles in Savigny, and it’s typically the more open and expressive of the pair, showing its charm and finesse a little earlier while still retaining the structure to age gracefully.

What the critics say:

89-92/100 ****Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

"Another fine deep purple. Here the bouquet is noticeably less solar. Even so, there is a slight peachiness on the nose, but it is pure red fruit on the palate with weight and an attractive warmth. Excellent length, mostly on the raspberry. Succulent and satisfying. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Oct 2024. *4/5*"

16.5/20 *GV*Jancis Robinson

"Intense crimson. Bright, sweet fruit, and lots of interest and charm. *Good Value*"

OUR GROWERS

Domaine Tollot-Beaut

Domaine Tollot-Beaut weaves a story that bridges generations, paying homage to winemaking traditions and the profound influence of terroir. Founded in the 1880s, Tollot-Beaut remains among the Cote de Beaune's best value and consistently rewarding growers. They pioneered domaine bottling in 1921 and now, helmed by fifth-generation Nathalie Tollot, it's a true family endeavour.

Based in Chorey-Le-Beaune, their holdings span Aloxe Corton, Savigny, and Corton itself, along with the remarkable 1er Cru Beaune 'Greves' – a hidden gem vineyard.
