Domaine Etienne Sauzet, based in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, is one of Burgundy’s benchmark producers of white wine. Founded in the early 20th century by Etienne Sauzet, the domaine helped define Puligny’s modern style, centred on purity, balance and mineral precision.

Today the estate farms around 15 hectares, with outstanding Premier and Grand Cru holdings including Les Perrières, Les Combettes, La Garenne and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet. Sustainable vineyard work, low yields and meticulous attention to detail ensure each site’s character is clearly expressed.

In the cellar, a restrained approach — gentle pressing, long fermentations and judicious oak — allows tension and minerality to shine. The resulting wines are celebrated for their clarity, depth and exceptional ageing potential, standing among the finest expressions of Puligny-Montrachet.

Etienne Sauzet is one of Tim Atkin's Top 10 Côte de Beaune White Wine Producers.

"The technicolor palate quickly takes over from the reserved nose with its vivacious array of lemon chiffon pie, lime zest and Fuji apples. Steadfast concentration carries the soft oak impression into a long and caressing finish. It’s an unusually loquacious Garenne here, and it’s downright irresistible. Most of the cuvée is from 60-year-old vines with the rest coming from 20-year-old plantings."
