"Second harvest under full control. Not 1er Cru purely due to its northern aspect. Tiny production of 4–6,000 bottles. A showcase for the Bajocian ammonite limestone soil, which brings drive and complexity. Hazelnut and honeyed notes, with good intensity led by minerality rather than excess fruit. Long, precise and detailed — one for the purists."

Down in Pouilly-Fuissé, we are pleased to report that volumes did not suffer anywhere near as much as they did in the Côte d'Or. More importantly though, the wines were so impressive that we would go so far as to call this the ‘star appellation of the vintage’ - the first time we have said such a thing in our decades of tasting Burgundy from barrel. There was a fruit intensity married to a real tension that made the wines absolutely irresistible.

"Enough wood to notice surrounds the cooler aromas of Granny Smith apple, pear and a pretty array of floral elements. The super-sleek, intense and beautifully detailed medium weight flavors that display excellent length on the balanced, dry and youthfully austere finale. This could however use better depth so at least some cellaring is recommended. In a word, lovely. *Sweet spot* *Outstanding*"
