The 2023 vintage reflects a year of moderate warmth with consistent sunshine, leading to steady, well-paced ripening. Although temperatures weren’t extreme, the shift to warmer nights and milder days contributed to extended growing periods. This translated into wines that are strikingly fresh, with lower alcohol levels, vivid acidity, and vibrant character—brighter and more approachable compared to recent years.
"From stony soils, this cuvée exhibits an intense nose of minerality and light citrus. The palate is textured and fresh, with linear poise and a saline chalkiness. Aged in 20–35% new oak, it is precise and refined, with impressive aging potential."
Our note
Both red and white wines achieved impressive yields, the largest ever recorded for the estate, with terroir expression and balance shining through. For reds, comparisons to the 2017 vintage are apt, showcasing elegance and precision. Whites carry their hallmark freshness and minerality, further underscored by the decision to reduce the percentage of new oak due to the larger volumes produced.

What the critics say:
"Fuller yellow. Ripe apple, slightly buttery, good fresh tension, white fruit on the palate, notably more density, and the finish keeps extending. A burly but balanced Perrières Tasted Oct 2024."
"The 2023 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru has a flinty bouquet with subtle smoky scents, gently unfolding with aeration. The palate is well balanced with plenty of extract on the entry, fine acidity, impressive depth and a harmonious finish with a touch of bitter lemon and grapefruit. Excellent. "
