- Rosé Sparkling
- Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
Ruinart's Rosé Champagne is a blend constructed on a base of Chardonnay (45%) and Pinot Noir, mostly classified as Premiers Crus with 20 to 25% coming from wines reserved from the 2 previous years.
It has delicate, peach skin notes, and hints of mandarin and pomegranate weave in amongst the largely hedgerow strawberry and fresh raspberry character on the nose. There is a touch of cream and rhubarb on the palate and more sweet red fruits with a speckling of ginger and rosewater, all jollied along by fresh but gentle acidity. Lively yet elegant this is one of the most graceful pinks on the market.
"Ruinart sponsored Edinburgh University's OTC Cavalry Skiing Team (I still have the team top!) and I remember an epic trip to Reims with a friend a few years later to pick up a significant number of cases for his wedding, so the maison has long had a place in my heart."

What the critics say:
"Light orange. Sharply focused red berry and tangerine scents are complicated by suggestions of allspice and cinnamon, with a hint of smokiness in the background. Sappy and minerally on the palate, offering fresh strawberry and blood orange flavors lifted by juicy acidity. Packs a serious punch but carries no excess weight and finishes stony and very long, with echoing red berry character. "
"An enticing properly dry rosé with a slew of red berry aromas, including wild strawberries, but behind this is the structure of a serious chardonnay from the chalky soils of this region and it is the chalky texture that anchors this on the long finish. Drink now."
