The PNTX20 is 100% Pinot Noir, mostly from the village of Tauxières and based on the 2020 vintage, but bolstered by a sprinkling of other years (including 2008 and 2018) and crus.
This is a best-of-both-worlds bottling that ably demonstrates terroir specificity, while also dipping into Bollinger’s awesome array of reserve wines to make a complete, complex Champagne of exceptional refinement.
What the critics say:
"2015 La Côte aux Enfants Champagne is only the fourth vintage of this extraordinary wine and comes from the mythical steep sided 4 hectare vineyard established by Jacques Bollinger between 1926 and 1934. This historic piece of land has two defining features: the south slope, which is vinified as a still red wine, and the north-west slope, which was the previously hidden side of the vineyard used exclusively to splice the blend in La Grande Année Rosé. The 2015 is called “the best edition of La Cote aux Enfants Champagne yet” by Essi Avellan."
