Ladoix Le Cloud Blanc, Domaine Prieuré Roch, 2019

Prieuré Roch is one of Burgundy's great cult addresses, and Le Cloud Blanc is exactly the kind of wine that reminds you why. Ladoix sits at the northern tip of the Côte de Beaune, often overshadowed by its famous neighbours Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses, but that obscurity is increasingly the point. The vineyard produces a white Chardonnay of real nerve and precision, bottled with minimal intervention under the late Henry-Frédéric Roch's biodynamic philosophy and continued by the team he left behind.

This is not a broad, buttery Côte de Beaune white. It is taut and mineral-driven, with white stone fruit, chalk dust, and a saline undercurrent that speaks of limestone and cool air. The MV designation adds another layer of intrigue, blending multiple harvests for consistency of house character. Drink it from 2026 until around 2035, though don't be surprised if it rewards an extra few years in the cellar.
