Jane Eyre, Pinot Noir, 2020
- Red Still
- Pinot Noir
Jane's Antipodean Pinots offer a brilliant counterpoint to her Burgundies and we have both her Yarra Valley wine which has been a firm favourite in past years and now the new Tasmanian Pinot, from three vineyards in Tamar and Huon Valleys and made with Jim Chatto, the year after he won WINE magazine’s Winemaker of the Year 2019.
These are both wonderfully ripe & expressive, fresh and elegant, with the Tazzie edition showing a touch more herbal piquancy, whilst the Yarra has deeper spice notes and warmer fruit. These are a real benchmarks for their respective regions and will impress even the most stalwart of red Burgundy lovers!
What the critics say:
"Plenty of florals here with violets and roses, leading to pink and red berries and nicely placed, subtle oak spice. The palate has sturdy tannins and a plenty of bright red-cherry fruit flesh. Give this another year or two to bed in. Try from 2023. Screw cap."
