When we visited Jane Eyre in November, she took us down to the cellar with something special in mind: a single barrel of Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2025, from one of the cru’s finest parcels, offered exclusively to Honest Grapes Club Members.

This is an exceptional Charmes, with all the generosity, structure and authority one would expect from this vintage and site, yet remaining unmistakably a Jane Eyre, with gorgeous perfume, supple, sculpted tannins, and a melange of soft red and black forest fruits.

"Broad-shouldered, as one would expect from this terroir, yet unmistakably lifted and incisive. Red cherry, blood orange and wild strawberry lead, edged by ferrous, earthy nuances, a touch of stem-derived pepper, and hints of incense and five spice. The palate is taut and precise, a racehorse held at the gates, driven by freshness and finely grained structure. Poised and authoritative, this is a Charmes-Chambertin of real intensity, with both the terroir and Jane Eyre’s hand coming through clearly."
