Whether crafting wines from the Côte-d'Or, Beaujolais, or her native Victoria, Jane's wines exude her distinct style—delicate and inviting, adorned with supple tannins and vibrant, luscious fruits.

Through gentle extraction techniques, thoughtful oak usage, and early bottling, Jane has created Burgundies that are accessible and appealing even in their early stages.

This wine is built for immediate pleasure and drinking beautifully right now in its primary fruit phase. Over the next year, the strawberry fruit will integrate further with the white pepper spice, creating even more harmony. By 2027-2028, expect the wine to show maximum integration while retaining its essential freshness and charm. This isn't a wine designed for long cellaring—the joy is in its youthful exuberance and pure fruit expression. Drink while that beautiful strawberry character is still singing.

What the critics say:

90/100 **** Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

"From Labourons, La Madone and Garenne. This version of Fleurie has been vinified with all the stems over 10 days cuvaison, aged in stainless steel and bottled in March under screwcap. A mix of crimson and purple. The bouquet has pure energetic Beaujolais notes, definitely some white pepper on top of the fruit. Light and fresh up front, more substantial behind, a bouquet of strawberries. Easy to open and easy to drink. Then open another one. Drink from 2023-2025. Tasted: October 2023. *4/5*"

Tasting Notes

AppearanceA lovely mix of crimson and purple, bright and inviting in the glass.

NosePure, energetic Beaujolais aromatics leap from the glass with white pepper dancing over ripe strawberry fruit. The whole bunch fermentation adds a subtle herbal lift without overwhelming the fruit. There's an immediate appeal here, nothing hidden or coy.

PalateLight and fresh on entry, then more substantial weight emerges behind—this is the hallmark of quality Fleurie. A bouquet of strawberries dominates, supported by that white pepper spice and gentle tannins that never intrude. The balance between immediate pleasure and underlying structure is perfectly judged.

FinishClean and refreshing, with strawberry fruit lingering alongside a gentle peppery warmth.

Overall impressionThis is Fleurie that makes you want to open another bottle immediately.

Food Pairings

In Beaujolais, this style of Fleurie would accompany the region's rustic charcuterie—sliced saucisson sec, pâtés, and rillettes spread on crusty bread. The locals would pair it with coq au vin made with Beaujolais itself, or simple grilled andouillette sausages. Fresh goat cheese from the nearby hills makes a perfect match, as does the region's famous Chaource cheese. During autumn, it's traditional to drink young Fleurie alongside roasted chestnuts and game birds like quail or partridge.

OUR GROWERS

Jane Eyre

When we first met Jane in 2015, we were amazed to hear that her wines didn’t have a presence in the UK (with a name like Jane Eyre, how could we resist bringing her wines to the UK market?).

It’s been a real pleasure to see how her reputation has grown with accompanied critical acclaim from luminaries such as Jancis Robinson, Tim Atkin, and Neal Martin. More recently she received her RVF second star and was also awarded Negociant of the Year 2020.
