Domaine Faury, Condrieu La Berne, 2019

The Condrieu “La Berne”, named after the previous owners of the land and refers to a specific plot where Lionel Faury’s father first planted vines, is wonderfully elegant and linear whilst maintaining a richness in texture.

Pale straw in appearance, the nose of the wine is fresh with aromas of white peach and pear, and a hint of citrus and vanilla. The palate is dry but rich and rounded with apricot and subtle peach flavours supported by an elegant acidity that leads to a long finish. Some minerality in the final, as well as a touch of citrus.

Lionel is determined to push his wines in to the front rank of the Northern Rhône’s top wines and this superb white is a shining example of him succeeding.
