The 2015 Charmes-Chambertin glides out of the glass with that unmistakable Dujac lift - black cherry, raspberry and a flutter of rose petals, all dusted with gentle spice from the whole-cluster touch. On the palate it’s pure silk: poised, finely woven tannins and a long, quietly confident finish that shows both charm and real depth.
The 2015 vintage was one of Burgundy’s standouts. Warm, dry and balanced, it produced wines with generous fruit, ample structure and impressive longevity. This cuvée captures the vintage’s richness while retaining poise and precision.
What the critics say:
"The 2015 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru offers up a beautifully immediate bouquet of sweet red and black fruit and fruit preserve, licorice and flowers, with little hint of the tertiary complexity to come with bottle age. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, supple and expansive, with a lavish attack, good concentration and depth, sappy acids and velvety tannins that caress the palate. A seductive Charmes."
"This is more aromatically restrained still as the earthy and sauvage-tinged nose only grudgingly provides glimpses of the pretty lavender, spice, tea and red cherry aromas. This possesses an interesting palate impression as the mid-palate is round, supple and caressing yet the finish is dusty, firm, serious and borderline rustic. I suspect that this will loosen up quickly such that it will be approachable after only 7 to 8 years yet require 15 to 18 to arrive at its full peak."
