Tenuta Luce's 2021 Brunello is made from 100% Sangiovese grown at the Madonnino vineyard, around 400 metres above sea level in the hills southwest of Montalcino. The site’s altitude and mixed clay–limestone soils help preserve freshness while allowing full ripening, a key balance for Brunello.
Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with extended skin contact, and aged for at least 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks, in line with traditional Brunello practice. The emphasis is on structure and longevity rather than overt oak influence.
Tenuta Luce, a collaboration between the Frescobaldi family and Robert Mondavi, combines deep respect for Montalcino’s terroir with a refined, modern sensibility. The 2021 vintage benefited from a warm, dry growing season and favourable conditions at harvest, producing concentrated yet balanced wines with excellent ageing potential.
