Castiglion del Bosco has solidified their position as one of the most prominent estates in Montalcino, and were one of the founding members of the 'Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino'.
In the vineyards they practice organic farming and harvest by hand, whilst the cellar is completely gravity fed and the wines are fermented with local yeasts. The Brunellos have a Burgundian flair while still being deeply rooted in the traditions of the area.
What the critics say:
"The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino is wildly expressive, mixing exotic florals with peppery herbs, cedar shavings and black cherries. It is soothingly round and silky, with cooling acidity and mineral-inflected wild berry fruits offset by subtle citrus. Staining and long, the 2021 finishes with a subtle chewy concentration and saline depth."
