Bourgogne Blanc, Jane Eyre, 2022
Bourgogne Blanc, Jane Eyre, 2022
- White Still
- Chardonnay
Whether crafting wines from the Côte-d'Or, Beaujolais, or her native Victoria, Jane's wines exude her distinct style—delicate and inviting, adorned with supple tannins and vibrant, luscious fruits.
Through gentle extraction techniques, thoughtful oak usage, and early bottling, Jane has created Burgundies that are accessible and appealing even in their early stages.
"A truly exciting Bourgogne Blanc from parcels in Puligny just beneath ‘Les Enseigneres’, (which is just beneath Grand Cru Batard) and Meursault, just below 1er Cru Charmes. Jane only made two barrels. A rich but refined nose of apple blossoms, and honeyed orchard fruits with plenty of waxy texture and pear fruits on the palate. A much more serious mouthful than one should reasonably expect at this level."

What the critics say:
"In bottle since end July. Below Puligny and Meursault. Some lemon yellow colour here, and quite a powerful fruit, again in the yellow direction. No shortage of body, perhaps could use a little more finesse. Lemon scented acidity behind with fair length. Drink from 2024-2026. Tasted: October 2023."
