Bourgogne Aligoté, Albert Bichot, 2022
Bourgogne Aligoté, Albert Bichot, 2022
- White Still
- Aligoté
This is pure sunshine in the glass with beautiful fruit, great tension on the palate and a lovely, long finish. Albert Bichot is well-known for making super value Burgundy and this is absolutely up there.
Albert Bichot's impressive range goes all the way up to crazily rare Grands Crus (with hefty price tags to match!), yet we've always been thrilled by their entry-level range of Burgundies. The whites, whether from the Macon, Chablis or Beaune, always offer incredible value for money, whilst the reds capture everything we love about Pinot Noir, with abundant red fruit, great freshness and a wonderful spicy finish.
What the critics say:
"Pale lemon. A proper Aligoté nose with some energy behind. Very promising. A little bit of barrel delivers some weight behind, this will make an attractive wine with some keeping capacity. Flesh is present but well contained. Drink from 2024-2027. Tasted: October 2023. ****."
"It’s light, fresh and invigorating and makes a great standalone aperitif."
