During one of our Wine Therapy sessions we were joined by Timo Mayer live from Australia (7:30am his time!) for a fascinating tasting of his minimal interventionist wines. It was an eye-opening experience, to say the least! These are cool climate wines with great purity, elegance and intensity and they've found a cult following amongst critics and sommeliers. All his wines come from his Bloody Hill vineyard, named for its incredible steepness (making it bloody difficult to work!)
Timo Mayer's winemaking journey started in Germany but found its heart in the Yarra Valley, Australia. His love for the region's terroir and wine culture led him to establish his own winery.
