Our first Burgundy 2025 release since the Hospices de Beaune auction in November — and what a way to open the vintage with a brand-new producer for us.

Olivier Leflaive has always had the potential to be one of the very best in Burgundy, and under Solène Panigai, now in her third vintage in charge, they are getting there fast.

The pedigree explains why. Olivier co-managed Domaine Leflaive alongside his uncle Vincent and cousin Anne-Claude from 1981 to 1994 — the years that cemented the Domaine's modern reputation. Domaine Leflaive is today widely considered the finest estate in Puligny-Montrachet and, alongside Coche-Dury, the greatest Chardonnay producer in the world, with bottles regularly trading into four figures. Olivier eventually brought his own share of family Grand and Premier Cru parcels with him, and the lineage shows. Vinous awarded his latest 2023s up to 98 points, and the wines have been performing exceptionally well at recent Burgfest tastings; this house is on the rise, and the gap to its more famous cousin is closing.

Two wines deserve a special mention. The Bourgogne Blanc 'Uncle Vincent' is named for the man who pushed Domaine Leflaive to the heights it occupies today — a fitting tribute, and at £20 a bottle, exceptional value for wine with this pedigree behind it. And for something truly special, the Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Clos Saint-Marc' is a walled monopole within Les Vergers 1er Cru, just up the hill from Le Montrachet - a real hidden gem.

2025 itself is an exceptional vintage with excellent quality at the expense of reduced yields, punishingly small for the third time in five years. Accordingly we have a small selection available.
