The Château Latour 2019 has finally arrived with a trio of perfect 100-point scores and a welcome surprise: it’s the least expensive perfectly-scored Latour on the market. Buying Latours of this quality on release is essential, and the 2019 looks very attractive indeed.
LPB: Lisa Perotti-Brown
DEC: Decanter
For a wine indisputably considered one of the triumphs of the outstanding 2019 vintage, that makes the pricing particularly compelling. For those concerned there will be a long wait to enjoy it, Jeb Dunnuck, in his 100 point review, reassures us that it is “a ripe and approachable Latour that has more accessibility than many vintages while still possessing quintessential Latour character and depth,” admitting “I’d happily drink a bottle today (don’t tell anyone)”. Meanwhile Lisa Perrotti-Brown and Decanter’s Georgina Hindle join him at 100 points, the latter declaring “To me this is how a great Pauillac can taste … this will last forever.” Further support comes from William Kelley (99+ points) and 98-point scores from Neal Martin, Antonio Galloni and Jane Anson.
We have prioritised past buyers and Grand Crew Classé and Syndicates Club Members for allocations, but have made a very limited number of cases available on the website - first-come first-served.
