We’ve long been fans of Manincor here at Honest Grapes – it’s a magical estate in South Tyrol, perched above Lake Kaltern, with a winemaking tradition that dates all the way back to 1608. Since taking the reins in 1991, Count Michael Goëss-Enzenberg has transformed the family-run domaine into one of Italy’s leading lights for sustainable, biodynamic viticulture, officially certified since 2009.

With 50 hectares of vines spread across rolling hills between 230 and 550 metres altitude, Manincor is all about harmony with nature. No synthetic chemicals, no shortcuts – just a deep commitment to biodiversity, soil health, and letting the land speak through the wines. Everything ferments naturally with native yeasts, and ageing takes place in oak to showcase the purity and personality of each site.

In 2004, they built one of the most beautiful underground wineries we’ve ever come across – gravity-fed and powered by geothermal energy, seamlessly blending into the landscape and a symbol of their low-impact, hands-off approach.

The range is split into three tiers – Hand, Heart, and Crown – and every bottle we’ve tasted over the years has offered such clarity and elegance. Highlights include the chiselled, mineral Eichhorn Pinot Bianco, the expressive Sauvignon Blanc Lieben Aich, and the beautifully balanced red blend Cassiano – all wines that have quietly won over many Club Members (and Team HG) alike.
