Pierre's journey in the world of Burgundian wines began with his father, Lucien, a figure deeply rooted in the terroir of this legendary region. For years, Pierre and his brother Louis worked side by side, tending to the vineyards with unwavering dedication. However, a pivotal moment arrived in 2003, leading to a division of the estate. Each brother received a share of the treasured vineyards upon Louis's marriage. With this division, Pierre Boillot's talent came to full fruition. He now had full control over the domaine, making his mark with a profound commitment to revitalising both soil and vines in all his vineyards.
The Wine
Pierre's vineyards are dotted with underappreciated treasures, each with its own unique character. From Volnay Les Angles, once classified among the top premier crus in Volnay during the 19th century, to Pommard Croix Noires nestled below Rugiens, and Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cherbaudes neighbouring Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru. Then there's Gevrey-Chambertin Les Corbeaux, an esteemed neighbour to Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru.
