Dom Pérignon 2017 is one of the most remarkable releases from the house in years – and one of the rarest. Awarded 97 points by Antonio Galloni, it is currently his highest-scoring bubbly from the 2017 vintage. Galloni calls it “a sort of mini-2002… a Champagne of textural richness and resonance above all else.” That comparison to 2002 - one of DP's finest vintages - says a lot about the quality here, and this is indeed up there with the best.
What makes it exceptional is scarcity. Production is tiny – roughly a three-month global supply. Galloni notes that the 2017 isn't even commercially viable, yet under Chef de Caves Vincent Chaperon, Dom Pérignon is now bottled as a document of the year, even when volumes are minuscule. Amen!
Collectors should take note. Dom Pérignon has a stellar record for holding value, and with production this low, the 2017 should be very attractive for collectors. We have just 15 cases available – once they’re gone, they’re gone. Secure it now, put it in the cellar, and guard it jealously.
