Lynch Bages has been under the same ownership since before the Second World War, that of the Cazes family, with Lynch under the stewardship of Jean-Michel Cazes since 1973 who wasted absolutely no time in modernising everything at the chateau having been an engineer in Paris.
Since its inception, Château Lynch-Bages has embodied Bordeaux's finest attributes. The property's story dates back to the late 1700s and has seen the stewardship of successive generations. The name "Lynch-Bages" is a tribute to the Lynch family, who acquired the estate, and "Bages," the village where it resides.
In the mid-20th century, Jean-Michel Cazes played a pivotal role in shaping Lynch-Bages into a modern powerhouse. His daring approach and commitment to quality revitalised the estate, creating wines that resonate with the true character of Pauillac.
