Château Musar, located in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon, was established in 1930 by Gaston Hochar and has been family-owned and operated ever since. Known for producing wines with a strong sense of place, Château Musar combines traditional winemaking techniques with a deep respect for Lebanon’s winemaking heritage. The red blend, first created in 1959, has become the estate’s signature wine, known for its longevity and ability to develop complexity over decades.
In their youth, Château Musar Reds are dense and richly textured, offering intense "baked fruit" notes of plums, damsons, cranberries, cherries, figs, and dates. The Bordeaux grape, Cabernet Sauvignon, adds layers of black fruit, while Rhône varieties, Cinsault and Carignan, bring fragrant floral notes (violets, pepper) and a supple spiciness.
Depending on the vintage, either characteristic may take the lead, but the style remains unmistakably Lebanese: deeply aromatic with persistent, vibrant fruit flavours.
